#COVID19 - Handwashing with Soap Trainings
Summary
In the
wake of Corona outbreak, washing hands is the single most effective measure to
avoid infection. But what happens if you don't even have water for this simple
task? Millions in School Student & rural lack access to water in their
communities and are left vulnerable. Support Project to provide practical
COVID-19 Handwashing trainings and providing bars of soap to each household.
Our trainings take place on a rolling basis across communities in rural Community.
Challenge
Adequate hand hygiene
requires a set of essentials: clean water, soap and hygiene awareness. While
access to clean water and soap is a must, against the backdrop of the COVID-19
outbreak, knowledge truly is power. There is an urgent need to emphasize the
life-saving practice of hand washing to wash off infectious germs and curb the
human to human transmission of the virus.
Solution
We provide 30-minute handwashing
trainings across communities in rural
Community & School Students. Trainings take place on a rolling basis and we
are actively seeking donations to help shield vulnerable communities from the
spread of COVID-19. Keeping social distancing restrictions in mind, household
heads are trained in groups of 10, and are expected to transfer their knowledge to their respective
households. In addition, we distribute one bar of soap per household to
encourage proper handwashing.
